Scent of a Woman (korean drama)

A woman, Lee Yeon Jae, is given the grim prognosis that she only has a short time left to live. She decides to quit her job at a travel agency and live her life to the fullest.
Wonderful! Wonderful! Wonderful! Simply wonderful! A drama not just about death but also about living. it's amazing how talented people are, to be able to act so realistically that we, the ones who are watching, feel the emotions too.
and did this show bring out some amazing emotions. it wasn't what i expected it to be at all, had dreaded the sadness it would bring and didn't want to watch it initially. but then, the two main leads pulled me in, tempting me.
what i really also enjoyed, besides the acting, was how the story flowed naturally. and how the minor characters brought out feelings in us. but the best of all, had to be the ending. don't be fooled. the story might seem that way and in a way, it's true that it is going to be sad, but they somehow turn it around to give such a positive feeling and it was surprisingly sweet and angst free ending. simply loved it. this show made me shed tears and laugh when i was alone. lee dong wook, kim sun ah, fighting!!! i watched this on epdrama but you can also find it on gooddrama as well. highly recommended!!! enjoy!

Obstetrics and Gynecology Doctors (korean drama)

The drama depicts the difficult decisions and moving human stories that take place daily in the OB-GYN department, focusing in particular on Seo Hye Young, a talented and determined obstetrician who has just transferred from the prestigious Seoul base to the branch hospital. Her straightforward manner of handling her professional life is in contrast with her love life, which is marred by her relationship with a married man. This becomes even more entangled when she meets Lee Sang Shik, the chief of NICU, and her long-time friend Wang Jae Suk also shows his interest.
This drama, as mentioned above, shows how it is in the ob-gyn department. I thought i had written about this earlier, but i can't seem to find it so i mustn't have written it. The different stories shown here, all with their own problems and situations, were so touching and heart rending.
I was awed by the miracles shown and also had my heart wrenched by the sadness and tough choices some had to make.
The characters were all so amazing and portrayed their roles fabulously. Seo Hye Young, especially, is such a strong woman and lady. Loved how her relationship with everyone, especially lee sang shik, progressed throughout the story. i only wished that i could have gotten to see more but the ending was satisfying nonetheless. a definite recommend from me. here's a short ost of the drama which i loved. enjoy!!!

Pretty Haru (manga/manhwa)

As children, Lee Haru and Yun Dong-Ha made a promise, one to become a famous baseball player, the other a ballerina. When Lee Haru departs for Russia, they both decide that when they meet again they'll become a couple.

Fast-foward several years, and Dong-Ha, now a feared deliquent, is excited to find out Lee-Haru is returning to his school. Expecting to meet a gorgeous, skinny ballerina, he is rather dismayed to find out Haru hasn't exactly turned out the way he expected.

It's been a long time since i last reviewed a manga or manhwa in this case. The art is ok, what we usually see of manhwas but it's the story that caught my attention. One can really make something with this kind of storyline and so i was interested to read it. It also helped that it was a short manhwa, 12 chapters to be exact as I wasn't in the mood for anything long.

It's a romantic comedy, and a light fluffy read. hehehe the characters are all so cute, even our 2 male leads. hehe both of them have their own charming points that you can't help rooting for both of them instead of just one. i'd say give this manga a go if you're in the mood for something light hearted and fun. enjoy!!!

Bichunmoo (korean drama)

This drama depicts the sacrifices four central characters make for love, vengeance and honor as each travels a road of chosen destiny.
i was wondering when this drama finished, whether i liked it or not. the feeling was conflicting. but in the end, despite its flaws, my like won over. i loved how our male lead was so true to our females for so long. i would have preferred a better ending, but if i were to think about it logically, i guess that was good. but mostly, i enjoyed the genre, which was historical and romance with action. loved the ost by the way, enjoy!

The Woman Who Still Wants to Marry/Still Marry Me (korean drama)

This drama depicts lives of three women who are closing one chapter of their life and entering the next. Lee Shin Young (Park Jin Hee), Jung Da Jung (Uhm Ji Won) and Kim Boo Ki (Wang Bit Na) are three women in their 30s whose romantic relationships have faltered due to their career ambitions, but find themselves given a chance to make a fresh start.
loved it! loved it! loved it! i enjoyed it so much it was a marathon for me, watching this. this doesn't usually happen with other dramas. not only did i enjoy their new relationships with the new guys in their lives, i also loved the friendship the three of them had. this drama showed 3 women with 3 perspectives of their thoughts and none are right or wrong. there's a lot of life lessons to be learned here not just for women but everyone.
there were so many cute and fluffy moments, and yet at the same time, so many moments that made you think, made you feel the tough decisions they had to make and you really felt for them so much that at times, you were in their shoes. it didn't help that the cast were all such fabulous actors. hehehhe they were all wonderful. what also really made me like this drama was that although there were revelations that made you cringe when you thought about when they'd be revealed, but when they were revealed, it was done so gently you didn't feel embarassed or anything, instead i felt gratitude to the writers for how they brought about the revelations. hehhe you can find this on youtube or epdrama. enjoy!!!

Faith (korean drama)

This drama shows the romance between a warrior from the ancient times and a female doctor from the modern times, their love transcending time and space. It will also tell the story about the process of making a true king.
Yoo Eun Soo (Kim Hee Sun) is a 33-year old plastic surgeon in the year 2012. She was originally a general surgeon, but quickly found that it was an overworked, under-paid profession and jumped ship to plastic surgery. Her dream is to someday open her own practice. But one day, Choi Young (Lee Min Ho) kidnaps her and takes her back to the Goryeo era because needing her medical skills. Their love story spans centuries but also warring beliefs. He gave up on love to be an unflinching warrior.
this was one drama that kept me waiting for so long to be completed. loved the leads and the cast overall. one might either like this or not, i've read many with negative comments as well but for me, it's all positive. although there might be some flaws, (which drama doesn't?) i'm willing to overlook as they have all my favourite genres in one. hehehe and of course, with the leads, who wouldn't.
they had great chemistry and would have loved a little more from the ending. but was still happy nevertheless. at least, it didn't leave me unsatisfied. i loved gi cheol as well, loved how he went from the crazy badass villain to well...crazy sad villain i guess. he was awesome in his acting and at times, when he was with eun soo, it even made me think, was he starting to like her because he was curious? all in all, i'd definitely recommend this drama, you can view it on dramacrazy or epdrama online with eng subs. enjoy!!!

Arang and the Magistrate (korean drama)

The beautiful Arang, the daughter of a magistrate during the Chosun Dynasty, is brutally murdered. The woman returns from the dead as a ghost, still full of light-hearted mischief and spirited fun. When she meets a young magistrate, Eun Oh, she discovers that he has the unique ability to communicate with the dead. She convinces him to help her uncover her killer and bring the person to justice. Can a ghost and a magistrate team up to solve a murder mystery and punish the wrongdoer?
Loved it. Totally loved it. Loved the world there, it felt really real and that all this could happen. it didn't feel fake at all. i enjoyed the story, it kept us guessing what was going on, enjoyed the characters who grew as the series progressed, and also enjoyed the two gods. hehehehe it was emotional at times, really touching us. shin min ah and lee jun ki, love youuuu, they were fabulous. i watched it all on epdrama but you can find it on others as well. hope you enjoy this!!!
